Representing CuraMedix and the United States, Gregory Mercure and Elise Hamann recently attended the STORZ Medical Annual Distributor Meeting in Berlin, Germany.
Mercure and Hamann joined up with 90 others who were there to represent 160 STORZ distributors across 32 countries including UK, Russia, Germany, Sweden, Peru, Mexico, Austria and Turkey — just to name a few.
Meeting sessions were held at the KARL STORZ Visitor and Training Center, formerly the Empress Augusta Hospital which was founded in1869 to treat and care for those wounded in war. KARL STORZ took great care in the extensive conversion and renovation to preserve and maintain the charm of the historical building, while adding modern elements including a state-of-the-art visitor center plus a training and conference center.
Over the course of two days, educational sessions included didactic as well as the clinical application of shockwave, plus the unveiling of new applicators that can be added to the already comprehensive range of STORZ Medical applicators. Conference attendees also got a sneak peak at some new shockwave products to come.
The ninth volume of the successful “Shockwave Therapy in Practice” series by Level 10 Publishing was also highlighted at the event, and a copy was presented to attendees. This latest publication, “ESWT in Aesthetic Medicine, Burns & Dermatology,” is edited by Dr. Karsten Knobloch, an esteemed physician specializing in general, plastic and aesthetic surgery, hand surgery, sports medicine, and emergency medicine. It provides an up-to-date overview of the use of Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) in reconstructive surgery, burns surgery, and aesthetic surgery.
